About Us
“Education is not a privilege for the few; it is a right for all.”
About SHINE Foundation: we work to make education accessible and equitable by removing practical barriers—uniforms, dignity kits, and education access support—while partnering with families, schools, and communities.

Who We Are
The SHINE Foundation (Supporting Holistic, Inclusive and Nurturing Education) is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to transforming lives through accessible and inclusive education.
We believe that every learner — from a primary school pupil in Lagos to a university student in Accra — deserves the chance to learn with comfort, confidence, and pride.
Founded in 2024 by Adeyemi Awomodu, SHINE grew out of lived experience: the recognition that learning environments must nurture not only the mind but also the dignity and well-being of every learner.

Our Mission
To foster holistic, inclusive, and empowering educational opportunities that remove barriers to access and achievement for learners across Africa.

Our Vision
An Africa where every learner, regardless of background, language, or circumstance, has the opportunity to thrive — academically, emotionally, and socially.
Our Core Values
| Value | Meaning |
| Equity | We prioritise those most excluded and underserved. |
| Inclusion | We embrace linguistic, cultural, and social diversity. |
| Integrity | We are accountable, transparent, and ethical in all actions. |
| Community | We build partnerships that uplift and empower. |
| Resilience | We stand with learners and educators in the face of challenge. |
Our Story
SHINE was born from a clear belief: access to education must not be determined by privilege.
Our Founder, Adeyemi Awomodu, once navigated the same hurdles many learners still face—school costs, the language of instruction, and unequal opportunity. SHINE is his response: a practical, people-centred platform that ensures learners are seen, supported, and able to stay in school.
Beginning in Lagos and operating across Nigeria, we connect schools, volunteers, donors, and policymakers to remove real barriers—uniforms and dignity kits, exam and tuition support, mentoring, and research-informed interventions.
Our vision is continental: we are building the partnerships and evidence to scale this work responsibly across Africa.

How we work

Through our flagship programmes —
- SHINE Dress Them Up, Lift Them Up (school uniforms and dignity for pupils),
- SHINE Dignity Kits (menstrual-health support for girls),
- SHINE Scholars Support Scheme (4S) (welfare and tuition for student volunteers), and
- SHINE Education Access Fund (financial support for students during exams) —
we address the everyday barriers that hinder learning and belonging.
Each initiative carries the same message: no learner should have to choose between survival and education.
Our Reach
From community classrooms in Lagos to universities across Nigeria and beyond, SHINE’s work touches hundreds of learners and families each year.
Through partnerships with organisations, and a growing network of schools and volunteers, we are lighting up learning — one community at a time.
Join the Movement

Every uniform, dignity kit, and scholarship tells a story of hope.
Whether you choose to volunteer, donate, or partner, you become part of a growing community that believes in education that nurtures the whole learner.
Together, we are lighting up learning across Africa.
Nigeria first, with programmes designed to scale across Africa.
Primarily for education access (exam/tuition relief/scholarship), uniforms, dignity kits, and the mental and physical well-being of learners.
